Congress announces first list of candidates for Tripura polls
New Delhi, Jan 24: Former Chief Ministers Samir Ranjan Barman and Sudhir Ranjan Majumdar and PCC president Birajit Sinha figure in the list of 41 Congress candidates for the Tripura Assembly polls scheduled next month.

Birajit Sinha figure in the list of 41 Congress candidates for
the Tripura Assembly polls scheduled next month.
While barman will contest from Bilasgarh, Majumdar is the
candidate from Sonamura and Sinha from Kailasahar, according
to the list released by party leader Mani Shankar Ayyar, who
is incharge of the party affairs in the north east.
State Youth Congress president Sudip Roy Barman and
former PCC presidents Ashok Kumar Bhattacharjee and Gopal
Chandra Roy have also been nominated.
A decision on the Rajnagar (SC) seat is pending.
Congress has an alliance with the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), which has been allotted 18 of the total 60 seats.
