Patna, June 05: Yogendra Baitha was today appointed new Jharkhand Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief in place of Baldeo Hazra. Party's national spokesman and Bihar minister Shivanand Tiwari said here that RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav removed Hazra from the post this morning.

An overwhelming majority of RJD workers and MLAs led by their leader in the state assembly Girinath Singh were opposing the continuance of Hazra ever since he was appointed state unit chief a few months ago because of his imperious style of functioning, Tiwari said.
