Govt calls J&K militants, Hurriyat for dialogue
Announcing its decision to embark on a political dialogue with all sections of people of Jammu & Kashmir including those currently outside it, government today invited Kashmiri militant groups desirous of peace and the Hurriyat Conference for talks without pre-conditions.

Significantly, the Centre's invitation for the dialgoue
covers a very broad spectrum-- the state government, all
political parties, NGOs, trade unions, social and religious
bodies as also Kashmiri militant organsiations desirous of
peace.
An official statement announcing the government's decision said deputy chariman of the Planning Commission K C Pant would conduct the dialogue on its behalf. The agenda would be peace and how it may be attained, the announcement in New Delhi tonight said. At the same time, the government which has declared a ceasefire in the state till the end of next month, made it clear that security forces have been directed to vigorously conduct operations against those who disturb peace and victimize the innocent people.
