New Delhi, Apr 23: BJP today reviewed the party's strategy for the coming four assembly elections and identified the issues to be highlighted in Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which are under Congress rule. The meeting convened by party president m Venkaiah Naidu lasting almost three hours and attended by general secretaries discussed the various agitation programmes that are to be taken up in these states and to counter the propaganda being carried out by the congress party, BJP sources said.
A one-day meeting of the party's central office bearers will be held in Jaipur on May 25 to be attended by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani to discuss in detail the poll strategy of the party in these four states which was crucial for the party politically, the sources said. As part of the preparations for the polls, it was also decided to hold a meeting of state unit presidents in Hyderabad in the first week of June, which would also be attended by Advani who has been coordinating between the party and government, the sources said.
In an exercise to tone up party functioning, an interaction between party cadres and BJP ministers will be held at the party's central office in the capital on May 9, the sources said.
Three union ministers would be participating in this programme called ‘sahyog’. The four general secretaries who attended the meeting were Pramod Mahajan, Sanjay Joshi, Rajnath Singh and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Bureau Report
