Islamabad, Feb 27: India's Charge d'Affaires
designate to Pakistan, T C A Raghavan arrived here today by
road to take up his new assignment here today.
Raghavan, who succeeds Sudhir Vyas as the Deputy High
Commissioner, traveled to Islamabad by road via Wagah border.
His Pakistan counterpart, Munawar Saeed Bhatti was
expected to travel to India in the first week of the next
month to take over his post in New Delhi.
He would be replacing Jalil Abbas Jilani, who was
expelled from India. Pakistan in retaliation expelled Sudhir
Vyas. After two rounds of expulsions of diplomats during the
past few weeks, the strength of the staff of the High
Commissions in both Islamabad and New Delhi have come down to
46 members.
