Congress up on electoral landscape of Akhnoor, Chammb
Akhnoor (Jammu), Sept 23: Nothing seems to be going well for the ruling National Conference in Akhnoor border constituency and if the anti-NC campaign by BSP and pro-Congress wave here are any indication, it looks quite tough for NC to retain this seat.
Akhnoor (Jammu), Sept 23: Nothing seems to be going well for the ruling National Conference in Akhnoor border constituency and if the anti-NC campaign by BSP and pro-Congress wave here are any indication, it looks quite tough for NC to retain this seat.
Seeking to settle old scores with irrigation and flood control minister, Govind Ram Sharma, NC candidate, a doctor turned BSP candidate, Gafoor Ahmed has launched a high tech campaign in Akhnoor, where Sharma is pitted in a multi
cornered fight among others with Congress, BJP and BSP.
"Gafoor, who resigned from the government service allegedly to settle scores with Sharma for four years long harassment is going to people not to beg votes for himself or BSP but only asking people not to vote for NC at all," a senior citizen of Akhnoor, Ragu Nath told reporters here today.
The BSP campaign has attracted large sections of voters in the constituency, where besides Gafoor (BSP) and Sharma (NC), as many as ten candidates, including Madan Lal Sharma (Congress) Kuldeep Sharma (Shakti Dal), Devinder Sharma (PDP) and Roshan Lal (Samta) are in the fray. Bureau Report
