BHEL to set up Korba Thermal Power Project in Chattisgarh
New Delhi, Aug 14: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said it has won a Rs 1700 crore contract for setting up the 500 mw Korba (east) Thermal Power Project in Chattisgarh.
New Delhi, Aug 14: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said it has won a Rs 1700 crore contract for setting up the 500 mw Korba (east) Thermal Power Project in Chattisgarh.
BHEL won the international tender for setting up of two units of 250 mw each on EPC (engineering procurement and construction) basis from Chattisgarh State Electricity Board, a company press release said here.
The first 250 mw unit is slated for synchronisation in 32 months, followed by the second unit four months thereafter.
BHEL's scope of work in the EPC contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, testing, erection and commissioning of main plant equipment including associated auxiliaries and balance of plant for setting up the 2x250 mw power project, besides complete civil works.
The turbine generators and boilers will be manufactured at BHEL's Haridwar and Trichy plants respectively, while control and instrumentation (C&I) will be supplied by company's electronics division, Bangalore.
The company's Hyderabad plant will manufacture the coal mills and heat exchangers and the electricals will be supplied by BHEL's Bhopal and Jhansi plants.
