Mumbai, Nov 11: The Special Investigation Team probing the multi-crore fake stamp and stamp paper scam has arrested a police sub-inspector for his complicity in the alleged racket, SIT sources said today. Sub-inspector S R Dalvi of Mumbai Police was arrested yesterday and produced in a local court today, the sources said adding, he has been remanded to police custody till November 17.

With Dalvi's arrest, the total number of police officers arrested in the scam has risen to nine. An IPS officer of the rank of Special Inspector General of Police, an assistant commissioner of police, two senior police inspectors, one assistant inspector and two sub-inspectors have been arrested so far in connection with the scam.
