Jammu, Oct 27: After triggering an explosion in one of the bogies of Delhi-bound Shalimar Express near here last night, the militants killed three persons, including an Army Jawan, and injured six others in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir in a desperate attempt to escape. More than an hour after the blast, the militants, numbered three, stopped an Indica car at Gagwal on Jammu and Kashmir highway and fired at the occupants, killing two persons and injuring four others, Deputy Superintendent of Police S S Sharma told Reporters. The militants, who were wearing army uniforms, escaped in the vehicle "DL-8CG8808" along with the injured and abandoned it at Mehaspura Chowk in Jammu, he said, adding later they took a Tata Sumo and headed towards Rajouri. The militants opened fire at a check-post in Akhnoor area of Jammu district when their vehicle was stopped by Security Force Personnel, Sharma said. One Jawan was killed in the firing and two others were injured. The militants escaped towards Ambran road while leaving the vehicle behind. The driver of the vehicle, "JK-05-7417", was nabbed by the Jawans and has been identified as Fazal Javed of Jammu city, he said. The security forces have encircled the militants in Akhnoor forest area and exchange of fire between the two sides was on when reports last came in Bureau Report
