Aizawl, Jan 15: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who was involved in the Naga peace deal, will leave for New Delhi today where he will meet NSCN(I-M) leaders Th Muivah and Issak Chisi Swu. Zoramthanga told a news agency that he was invited by the NSCN leaders, who are now in the capital, to have a meeting before they leave Delhi.

He said he would not be participating in the negotiations as his role was only to create mutual trust and a conducive atmosphere between the Centre and the rebels. "The real talks would be held later," he predicted, adding the NSCN leadership would have to formulate "Naga political demands" after consulting NGOs and experts which would take time.

A former rebel leader himself, Zoramthanga, was involved in the Naga peace deal after he was requested by both the Centre and the NSCN leadership to act as a "go-between". He had met the NSCN leaders in Bangkok three times before they finally came over to India for talks.
