Ortiz (20-7) reached 20 wins for the first time in his career and achieved his second career shut-out.
Florida's Josh Beckett (8-8) surrendered just six hits in seven innings and struck out nine but still ended up losing. Mike Lieberthal was the architect of Philadelphia's win, homering twice and driving in four runs as the Phillies moved a half-game ahead of Florida.
Randy Wolf (16-9) won his fourth straight decision, giving up two runs and four hits in six innings. He worked around four walks, striking out eight.
