Prague, July 27: As Mandy Moore enjoys the success of her newly released film, 'How to Deal' she isn't taking a well-deserved rest. She is shooting another film and Reuters got a sneak peek catching up with her on location.
Life for a teenage girl is tough. But it's even harder to find yourself when mom and dad are the President and First Lady of the United States. That's the plot of Mandy Moore's latest film that is, as yet, untitled. She plays First Daughter Anna Foster who decides that she's had all she can take of her sheltered White House life and secret service agents. She recruits a young man named Ben, played by heartthrob Matthew Goode, to help her escape while traveling in Europe with her family.

"I'm definitely on set everyday its a lot of hard work. It's exciting to read a script and know that you're going to get to portray someone, in this case a character whom I have very many parallels with. We lead kind of similar lives in a sense. On set Mandy is showing her seasoned co-stars that's she's more than a pop princess. Mark Harmon, who plays her presidential father, says he's been impressed by her professionalism and talent.

"She's a gift ya know. I didn't know Mandy before I got here, she's a hard worker, she's professional, she comes prepared, she likes to play, meaning that she's completely open to trying different acting choices. And also, you play roles and you get cast opposite whomever you get cast. The truth is you come here hoping it'll be something that there is a continuity to a relationship to and every once in a while you meet someone and you get onscreen and it works just because you like each other." Director Andy Cadiff also sees a bright future for the young musician turned actress. Cadiff says Moore is a hard working young actress with a lot of potential for a prosperous career. As for the script - Cadiff says it's got just the right balance of drama, action and romance.

"I read the script about two and a half years ago and loved it immediately. I loved the idea of it, I love the whole idea of the whole presidency and finding the personal family side of the presidency. I think everyone is fascinated by that. And I'm also a sucker for road pictures. Two people on the road in conflict, adversities, adventures. First they fall in love, then they're mad at each other, and run away from each other and then they find each other again. So, I love that kind of a movie." Still, music is her first love and balancing a singing career and a film career doesn't seem to be stretching this 19-year old too thin.

"Music is my passion, its my number one and I have an album coming out in September that I am so, so, so excited about. I'm ready to get back out there I've been absent from music for the past two years. I'm ready to get back on stage and feel the crowd and all that exciting stuff."

In the meantime, acting seems to be Moore's element. Her still untitled project is slated to hit theaters in January 2004.
