Kathmandu, Dec 08: Nepal government has decided to rope in an international company for a joint venture with national flag carrier Royal Nepal airlines to save it from financial crisis. The government is looking for a reputed international company to strengthen RNAC management with the aim of giving a boost to the tourism industry, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sarvendra Nath Shukla said yesterday.
Nepal has decided to invite international companies to save the airlines from severe financial crisis, he said.
The process has already been initiated to this effect and French and American companies have shown interest to enter into the joint venture, he said.
The Finance Ministry will provide financial support to evaluate the property and the asset of RNAC by inviting experts from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), he said.
The ministry has already allocated Rs 10 million for the evaluation which will take 14 weeks.
