Srinagar, Aug 08: The prestigious C K Nayudu under-19 cricket tournament will be held in the Kashmir valley from September 05 to 12, official sources said here today.
A meeting of senior officials of the state's sports department was held yesterday to finalise the venues and preparations for the top ranking junior event in the country, they said.
Sources said ten venues, including the University of Kashmir and Sopore stadium, across the valley were chosen to host the preliminary round of the event.
All the venues will host at least five games and the final will be played at the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium, which has hosted two one-day internationals.
The authorities here are hoping that the congregation of top junior teams and upcoming talent from all over the country would boost the game in Jammu and Kashmir.
