Security forces would remain on high alert throughout Uttar Pradesh for the next 15 days in view of VHP's plan to start the construction of ram temple in Ayodhya. District police chiefs have been instructed to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant to maintain law and order, specially in the communally sensitive districts, in view of the VHP's Ayodhya movement, principal secretary, home, Naresh Dayal told reporters.
He said efforts were on to stop fresh arrival of kar sewaks into Ayodhya by diverting trains and those already camping there were being forced to leave at the earliest.
Dayal said 68 companies of the CRPF and 12 companies of rapid action force were deployed in Ayodhya and other sensitive districts of the state besides the civil police and PAC. Meanwhile, a report from Faizabad said all educational institutions in the district will be closed till March six in view of the prevailing tension.
Faizabad has been divided into 30 sectors and magistrates and deputy SPs have been posted in each sector, the reports said, adding the district has been completely sealed off and the arrival of people even on foot was being checked.
