Jake Weiner, Chris Bender, J C Spink of Benderspink, Pouya Shahbazian and Christopher Cosmos are producing the project with "Breaking Bad" writer Gennifer Hitchinson writing the script, reported Ace Showbiz.

"Red Queen", which has shades of "The Hunger Games", "Game of Thrones", "X-Men" and "Cinderella", centers on a 17-year-old common girl who lives in a world with a caste system divided by blood.

Banks made headlines after the success of "Pitch Perfect 2". The musical flick starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson opened with USD 70 million domestically, giving her the second-largest opening for a female director.

It has grossed over USD 161 million domestically and more than USD 250 million worldwide.
