MacFarlane, who would return to direct, co-write the script and voice the foul-mouthed teddy bear, had taken to Twitter recently to confirm the news and noted that both the 62-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, and Morgan Freeman had been on the sets to shoot, the Hollywood Reporter reported.

The Universal project, which has been slated for a June 2015 release, would see Mark Wahlberg reprise his role and stars Amanda Seyfried alongside him.
