New Delhi, Nov 10: BJP leader Ujala Arora, four time winner from Jaipur (rural) seat, was denied the party ticket and replaced by Gopal Mali as the party released the second list of 73 names for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly today. Another significant dropout is veteran leader Bhanwar Lal Sharma who has "decided to stay away from electoral politics," party sources said.
Surendra Parik has been nominated from Sharma's Hawa Mahal constituency.
With this, the party's central election committee which met last night at the residence of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and chaired by party president M Venkaiah Naidu, has cleared 166 candidates so far for the assembly elections slated for December 01.
In a move to appease Vishvendra Singh, party MP from Bharatpur who threatened to resign, the party has given the Nadbai seat in his Lok Sabha constituency to Jitendra Singh instead of Vishvendra Singh's sister Deepa. Bureau Report
