New Delhi, Nov 02: With just a month remaining for Delhi Assembly polls, electioneering in the Capital is poised to gain momentum from tomorrow with the expected announcement of candidates of two major parties ruling Congress and BJP. While BJP is likely to release the list of its candidates tomorrow after a meeting of central election committee, Congress is also expected to announce its nominees this week ahead of the start of nomination process for the December 1 battle of ballots for the 70-member house beginning on Friday.

As huge crowds of ticket aspirants are being seen at the party headquarters of Congress and BJP for the past several days, both the parties have asserted that the selection of its candidates would depend on the past record and performance.

Both the major parties have conveyed to those with criminal backgrounds not to ask for tickets. BJP has also decided not to give tickets to those who contested MCD polls in which the party witnessed a debacle earlier this year.

The campaigning, which is already underway in a very low profile, will go into high pitch from the second half of November when Central leaders and star campaigners of both BJP and Congress plunge into the field.
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu and the party's "new Hindutva mask" Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be the star campaigners for BJP.
