The public sector oil and gas retailer Indian Oil Corporation is finalising alliances with builders in the twin cities to provide Indane piped gas to its customers.
Piped gas is already being supplied in Mumbai, and the facility has been welcomed by users. With some coversions, piped gas can be used for geysers and air-conditioners.
“New apartments would be fitted with exclusive storage points to provide LPG through pipelines to each household,” IOC general manager (Sales) S K Kohli. A gas flow meter fitted to each household connection would monitor the usage.
Every precaution has been taken for safe and secure distribution of gas, he said adding that it would be lot more convenient and cost-effective to the consumers.
The Indane customers in the city can dial 1258 for refill booking, he said. IOC has chosen Hyderabad for launching a pilot project aimed at providing the best of customer services in LPG supply.
About twenty Indane distributors in the city have been selected under the project and they will have to meet targets in respect of customer satisfaction.
This includes refill delivery on the same day for bookings made upto 2 pm. A toll-free number would also be given for receiving complaints.
The project would be extended to Lucknow, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi and other cities later, he added.
