Batni(MP), Mar 27: Highlighting the need for conservation of water, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today warned that if steps are not taken in this regard a day may come when people will fight over it. Addressing villagers after dedicating the watershed area management Chakra Nala stop dam project here, Vajpayee said water was likely to become a very costly thing in the near future in the absence of conservation efforts. Conservation of water was so essential that if steps were not taken to do so now the day was not far off when people would fight over it, the Prime Minister said. Congratulating the people who under the guidance of Nanaji Deshmukh's Deen Dayal Upadhya Research Institute had developed these 'stop dams' to conserve water, Vajpayee said that he would share the success of these projects with the people of the country. He also underlined the need for developing similar projects in other parts of the country.
