Bhopal, Sept 21: Charging BJP with hatching a conspiracy to tarnish her image by using the Taj corridor project issue, BSP leader Mayawati today said action should be taken against `errant' bureaucrats in the case. "BJP along with 'manuvadi' media is trying to tarnish my image through Taj issue... But BJP will have to pay a heavy price for this as it is not going to be in power for good," Mayawati said while addressing a `maha rally' at the historic Lal Parade Ground here to launch BSP's poll campaign for coming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.
Alleging a conspiracy to implicate her under the pretext of Taj corridor, she said if anything went wrong in the matter officials should be blamed as Chief Minister, who deals with thousands of files, generally follows bureaucrats' advice. "If action is warranted in the Taj case, it should be against bureaucrats," the BSP leader said.
Asserting that all her properties are in the records of the income tax department, Mayawati said what she owns is only a fraction of the properties amassed through corrupt practices by "small time 'manuvadi' politicians" of other parties. The BSP leader said she has asked Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to get the properties of big leaders and their relatives assessed by a committee of "honest people".
On Ayodhya issue, she said BSP would accept the court verdict but if BJP tries to take law into its hands the party would oppose it.
On Mulayam Singh government in Uttar Pradesh, she said it is only in name as the government has actually been formed by BJP in which Mulayam Singh played "Hanuman's role". Bureau Report
