BCCI pension scheme disbursal starts today
Mumbai, May 21: A sum of Rs 7.15-lakh is to be disbursed today amongst 121 past test cricketers and 22 umpires all over India as the first installment of the monthly Rs 5000 pension scheme by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its Platinum jubilee year.

Rs 5000 pension scheme by the Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI) in its Platinum jubilee year.
The function to disburse the cheques is to be held
simultaneously at 6pm in all the cities where the cricketers
and umpires reside, according to BCCI Joint Secretary, Prof
Ratnakar Shetty.
Shetty, who is also the joint secretary of Mumbai Cricket
Association (MCA), which has produced the highest number of
Indian test players, told a news agency that 44 cricketers and six
umpires would receive the Rs 5000 monthly cheque each this
evening here.
The list of recipients include players like former Captain Nari contractor, Hanumant Singh and Salim Durrani, to name a few, who never played for Mumbai but are residing here.
Out of this lot 35 persons have informed the MCA that they would attend the function in Mumbai's Garware Club House at Wankhede Stadium, Shetty informed. Bureau Report
