Mumbai, Oct 30: Former Australian skipper Ian
Chappell today said the Indian cricketers, who will be touring
Australia next month, will have to adjust to the bounce
quickly to do well on their 82-day tour.
"If the Asian teams want to do well in Australia, they
will have to get used to the bounce and likewise if an Aussie
or a Kiwi team is touring the sub-continent then they have to
get used to the low bounce apart from the heat and humidity",
Chappell said during a panel discussion on "how to break
India's seventeen year jinx of not winning a test series
outside the Asian sub-continent".
Chappell also felt that Indian middle order batsman V V S Laxman should come at number three so that the later order batsmen can build the innings around him.
"Laxman should occupy the number three slot permanently as he can play a long innings as he showed during their home series 2-1 win against the Aussies a couple of years ago", he added.
