Kathmandu, May 28: Three dozen members of the dissolved house of representatives of Nepal, including upper house vice chairman Ramprit Paswan, were today injured when police charged on them to prevent their entry into the Singhdurbar secretariat as part of the protest against the royal takeover. On a call given by the country's five major political parties, members of the dissolved house forced their way through the police security circle in a bid to capture the Parliament house and marched towards the building from Ratnapark.
The parties had earlier announced a meeting of the dissolved house of representatives as part of the third phase of their joint agitation against King Gyanendra's decision to dismiss the country's elected government.
They demand the reinstatement of the Parliament or the formation of an all-party government.
The demonstrators later assembled at the Royal Nepal Academy in the capital to start their discussions.
The meeting, being presided over by former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala, was attended by over a hundred ex-MPs and several resolutions against the government will be passed therein.
