Aizawl, july 22: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga today informed the assembly that he visited Bangkok four times to hold talks with the NSCN(IM) leadership on the Naga problem.
In reply to a query from the Congress legislator R. Lalzirliana, Zoramthanga, who did not elaborate, said that the expenses for the tours to the Thai capital were paid for by the Union government and not by the Mizoram government or the NSCN(IM).
When asked if he lost a diamond ring worth Rs 12 lakh purchased from Bangkok for his wife during one of the tours, the chief minister said that he had not purchased one and, therefore, the question of losing it did not arise.
