Kathmandu, Oct 20: A Nepalese court today denied bail to international criminal Charles Sobhraj and gave an interim order to probe into his involvement in the murder of two foreigners in 1975. The Kathmandu district gave an interim order to investigate into the murder case keeping Sobhraj in custody, officials said.

The confessed serial killer was sent to Nepalese Central Jail, Deputy Superintendent of Police K C Ganesh said.

"He will have to stay in jail at least for a year as the investigation will take long time to complete," he said.
During the hearing, Sobhraj gave a written statement denying his involvement in the case, a court official said.

The 'bikini killer' was arrested here from a casino on September 19 and was facing charges of entering the country on a fake passport and killing two foreign tourists in 1975. The court Thursday granted him bail in the immigration case but police promptly arrested him again in the murder case.
