Lucknow, Sept 22: Samajwadi Party candidate Ram Pyarey Singh was today declared elected unopposed to the state Vidhan Parishad, official sources said. Rajendra Prasad Pandey, returning officer for the bye-election to the UP Vidhan Parishad, said in a release here that Singh was elected to the lone vacancy unopposed.

The seat had fallen vacant following appointment of Ram Prakash Gupta as governor of Madhya Pradesh.
