US military planes returned to the skies over Osama bin Laden's former hideout in eastern Afghanistan.
For the second day in a row a B-52 bomber flew in circles over the Tora Bora mountain where the al-Qaeda leader had a network of caves and tunnels now being investigated by US and Afghan forces.

The B-52 flew over the White Mountain range in eastern Afghanistan but was not seen to drop any bombs, it was reported
At least one fighter-bomber and other observation planes were seen flying over the region on the lookout for bin Laden followers. Al-Qaeda's fighters mostly fled from the caves and tunnels toward the Pakistan border at the weekend -- following two weeks of intense air raids -- and have since been hunted by the warplanes and Afghan forces on the ground.
Hundreds of mainly foreign, Arab and Chechen, fighters were believed to be in the al-Qaeda bases which became a target after the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, blamed on bin Laden.
