PM confident of BJP gaining majority in UP
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Saturday, expressed confidence that BJP and its allies will get a majority in the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Vajpayee in his press conference Centre would wait for the court verdict on the Ayodhya issue. "We are trying for a majority. Our hope is we will get a majority. Let`s see, He told a press conference in Lucknow."
He was replying to a question whether BJP would tie-up with BSP`s Mayawati in case of a fractured verdict in the elections.
He also hoped that there will be no American action against Iraq. Replying to a question at a press conference in Lucknow, Vajpayee said India has already conveyed its position on Iraq to the US. "We hope there will be no action against Iraq," He said.
