Shillong, June 15: Former Meghalaya minister, K C Boro, was kidnapped by a group of unidentified persons from Assam while he was travelling from Phulbari in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, but was released later, a senior police official said today. Director General of Police L Sailo said Boro had left Phulbari at around 9.00 pm last night and when he entered an adjacent locality in Assam, he was kidnapped. "However, the matter was resolved and Boro reached his home this morning," he said adding he was immediately unable to confirm whether the kidnappers were militants or criminals. He also could not provide any detail as to where Boro was headed to when he was kidnapped.
