Lucknow, June 07: Samajwadi Party today claimed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's foreign trip had flopped as investors had shown no interest in investing in the state. Leader of opposition in state legislative council Ahmed Hasan and SP state vice-president Bhagwati Singh also alleged that Mayawati had personal financial agenda during the trip.
Claiming `clinching' evidence to substantiate their charge, the SP leaders demanded a CBI inquiry.
"Mayawati's foreign jaunt has proved to be a flop show as the prospective investors had evinced little interest in the state given its poor infrastructural facilities", they told reporters here.
"The state government is itself on the verge of collapse after being reduced to minority following withdrawal of support by the 14-member Rashtriya Lok Dal,” they said.
