New Delhi, Feb 16: BJP today condemned the killings in Bihar's Nawada district, appealed to all nationalist parties to join hands to bring about an early end to the "Rakshash Raj" in the state and asked Congress and communists to accept reality in the state and not be active partners of the corrupt and anti-people regime. "It is indeed shocking that the so called nationalist parties still continue to support the Bihar government in a state where caste wars, killing, kidnapping and even fake encounters resulting in the unfortunate murder of students and an army jawan are no longer out of the ordinary," party president M Venkaiah Naidu said in a statement.
He said such retaliatory killings as in Nawada and gang wars have become common in Bihar "on account of the completely ineffective, corrupt and anti-people government machinery of the state."
Naidu said the Rabri Devi government would not be in power but for the continuing support of the Congress party and communists and that it was ironical that those parties who at the national level spoke of the need for meaningful socio-economic development were in reality supporting a regime that has made development a non-existent entity and "actually contributed to the complete decline and collapse of the state in the last twelve years."
