New Delhi, June 09: A Delhi court today granted bail to Dharambir Khattar, one of the key accused in the DDA scam, in a case wherein he allegedly conspired to give undue favours to a private school society here. Giving the accused the benefit of Section 167 (2) of CrPC, special judge Prem Kumar directed him to furnish a personal bond of Rs two lakh and one surety of like amount.

Under the section, an arrested person becomes entitled to bail if the investigating agency fails to chargesheet him within 60 days of arrest.

However, he would not still be released from jail as his name figures in another fir wherein he is yet to get bail.
CBI had registered an fir against Khattar and senior DDA officials, including its sacked vice chairman Subhash Sharma and the director of modern public school educational society, for conspiring to extend the lease on a piece of land given to the society in return for money.
