Kolkata, Feb 10: Expelled CPI(M) MP Radhika Ranjan Pramanik, who won parliamentary elections five times from Mathurapur, joined the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) yesterday.
The announcement was made by party supremo Mamata Banerjee, accompanied by Pramanik, at a press conference here saying Pramanik would contest from Mathurapur.
Banerjee said though the final list of her party candidates for the coming election was yet to be published, Pramanik has been nominated to contest from Mathurapur on a Trinamool Congress ticket.
She said the list of her party candidates was ''almost'' ready and would be published soon after consulting the BJP.
“We have finished 99 per cent of works regarding finalisation of our list of candidates which will be published soon after another round of discussion with leaders of BJP, our ally,'' the Trinamool chief pointed out.
She informed that a BJP-Trinamool team would meet Chief Election Commissioner T S Krishnamurty on February 11-12 to apprise him of the ''fake'' voters' list in West Bengal.
