New Delhi, Sept 08: The Supreme Court today allowed a Gujarat government appeal challenging the grant of bail by high court to four accused in the Godhra train carnage incident and directed them to approach designated Pota court for relief.

This order was given by Justice S Rajendrababu and Justice G P Mathur.
On September 1, the Supreme Court had reserved its verdict on a Gujarat government appeal challenging grant of bail to four accused - Salimbhai Abdulgaffar Shaikh, Mohd Hussein Abdulrahim Kalota, Siraj Abdulla Jamsa and Mohd Abdul Sattar Giteli - in the Godhra train carnage case on the ground that as Pota had been invoked against them, the high court had no jurisidiction to entertain their bail pleas.

The four accused were arrested in connection with their alleged role in the burning of Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27 last year resulting in the death of 57 passengers.
