Beijing, Aug 20: China and Nepal have inked a new agreement on civil aviation to facilitate more direct flights between the two neighbouring countries in order to boost tourism and enhance bilateral cooperation, China’s official news agency reported.
The agreement was signed here yesterday by the Director of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, Yang Yuanyuan, and Nepalese Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sarbendra Nath Shukla, it said.
Yang said the pact would prepare both nations for more direct flights and further promote their cooperation in economy, trade and tourism.
The agreement was more representative of the development trend of the modern civil aviation industry and reflects the long-term friendly cooperation between the two countries, he said. The agreement follows a visit to Nepal by a 28-member delegation led by vice chairman of the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Lobsang Gyaltsen, last week. During the visit, the two sides discussed ways to promote trans-Himalayan tourism and other economic activities between China and Nepal. Bureau Report
