Jammu, Feb 01: A BSF jawan was injured when Pakistani troops resorted to small arms firing in R S Pura sector of Jammu division during last night, BSF sources said here today. Constable Ramesh Kumar sustained bullet wounds in shoulder and fingers when Pakistani rangers opened firing with light machine guns on Nikowal border outpost in R. S. Pura sector around midnight last night, they said.
The injured jawan, who is attached to forward post as driver, was later shifted to army hospital in Satwari.
Pakistani troops also resorted to mortar shelling in Jhangar area of Noushera sector of Rajouri district last evening, they said adding Indian troops retaliated after 30 mortar shells landed in forward area from across the line of control.
However, there was no loss of life or damage to property on our side, the added.
