Vajpayee government on alleged "misuse" of PSUs by six Union
ministers and cash-on-camera scam, opposition today moved an
adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha and made a strong demand
for a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to probe the two
"serious corruption" cases.
The opposition also sought a statement by Prime Minister
Atal Bihari Vajpayee as to why he had sought the resignation
of Dilip Singh Judeo as Union minister and wanted to know
details of the discussion he had with Chief Vigilance
Commissioner P Shankar besides the report of group of
secretaries on the issue of functioning of PSUs.
Raising the matter during zero hour, Ramjilal Suman (Samajwadi Party) and Congress chief whip P R Dasmunsi, who along with 42 other opposition members have moved the motion, pleaded with Speaker Manohar Joshi to admit it as under the constitution the council of ministers was accountable to the Lok Sabha.
