Hyderabad, Nov 10: Amidst speculations about snap polls in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has put his TDP on the fast forward mode and convened an emergency general body meeting on November 13 to chalk out strategies to make the party cadre battle-trim. Leaving no one in doubt about his intention to call for early assembly polls, Naidu had in the past few days, unveiled a plethora of welfare measures targetting weaker sections, farmers and local bodies and a majority of them got cabinet approval at its unscheduled, week-end meeting on Saturday.

After putting the state administration on its toes to meet strict deadlines for completion of welfare packages, the TDP supremo has now turned his attention to gearing up his party for the imminent elections, with the ruling party looking at a time-frame of mid-February for snap polls.

Over 6,000 partymen, including MPs, MLAs, politburo members and officer-bearers of district party units, would attend the meeting where a clear indication of the timing of dissolution of the assembly is likely to come.

The TDP, which hopes to harness the perceived public sympathy in the aftermath of a recent naxalite attack on Chief Minister, is set to formulate the poll strategy at the general body meeting, being christened as `mini-Mahanadu'.

The mood in the ruling party camp was upbeat as Naidu today held a meeting with district in-charges to review arrangements for the meeting and also for a massive show of strength being planned in all the three regions of the state, starting with coastal Andhra town of Guntur on November 19.
