Schumi warns that Ferrari can still bounce back
Germany, Aug 29: Michael Schumacher insists he can still clinch his sixth Formula One drivers` title despite seeing his lead in the world championship cut to just one point.
Ferrari endured the latest in a series of disappointing weekends at the Hungarian Grand Prix with Schumacher, who has not won a race since June, finishing eighth.
With just three races to go, only two points separate Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen in the drivers' championship.
"I can only say I accept the challenge and will fight to the final bend to win the title," Schumacher told German newspaper Bild.
The 34-year-old believes that Ferrari respond well to a challenge and says the team will give their all in an effort to retain the top spot in F1.
"This is probably the most important test that we have ever faced at Ferrari.
"But whoever writes us off has obviously not seen what we have demonstrated for the past few years.
"Ferrari is a really strong team and the greater the difficulty the more determined we are to win."
The Italian team will be on their home circuit for the next Grand Prix at Monza on 14 September.
