Mysore, Apr 18: Defence Minister and NDA convenor George Fernandes today said there was a "general acceptance" of the performance of the BJP-led coalition government at the centre and it would pave the way for its re-installation in the coming elections. Addressing a joint election meeting with BJP president m Venkaiah Naidu here, Fernandes said 26 days from now, Vajpayee would take oath as Prime Minister, ushering in the NDA government again.

Dwelling at length on the Prime Minister's success in establishing good relations with the country's neighbours, specially china, Fernandes said Vajpayee had been successful in removing certain misconceptions in the minds of Chinese leadership. China's changed stance in respect of Sikkim had proved positive in the relations between the two countries, he said.
Similarly, there had been an improvement in India's relations with Pakistan, he said. In his speech, Naidu accused the congress government in Karnataka of carrying out a misinformation campaign against the BJP.
He said the minorities who were being treated as mere vote banks injecting a negative picture about BJP in their minds had come to know about the machinations of the Congress. Bureau Report
