Seoul, July 01: North Korea accused the United States today of stepping up aerial espionage last month as it prepared for war against the communist state over an ongoing stand-off over the North's nuclear ambitions. US reconnaissance planes flew 200 missions over the Korean peninsula during the month of June, according to the North's state-run Central News Agency (KCNA) .
"The aerial espionage getting more frantic in the wake of the 'conclusion' of the Iraqi war of aggression clearly proves that the us imperialists are becoming more undisguised in their moves to make a surprise preemptive attack on North Korea over its 'nuclear issue,' KCNA said. US aircraft including U-2, RC-135 and EP-3 planes were all used to "spy on strategic targets" in North Korea, it said. Bureau Report
