Three militants killed in Poonch
Jammu, Nov 28: Army troops today shot dead three exfiltrating militants of Hizbul Mujahideen Pir Panjal Regiment (HMPPR) outfit near border town of Poonch in Jammu division, official sources said here.
Jammu, Nov 28: Army troops today shot dead three exfiltrating militants of Hizbul Mujahideen Pir Panjal Regiment (HMPPR) outfit near border town of Poonch in Jammu division, official sources said here.
The troops spotted a group of militants crossing Poonch river in the wee hours today, the sources said adding the troops surrounded them and in subsequent encounter three militants were killed.
The recoveries from the slain militants included three AK rifles with five magazines and some rounds and few pouches along with incriminating documents.
The militants were trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan, they said and added that search was on to track down another associate of theirs. Meanwhile, ultras fired on the house where the family of a surrendered militant was residing on the outskirts of Surankote tehsil of Poonch district last evening.
However, no loss or damage was reported in the incident, the sources said.
Reports from Doda district said that one Shandlo Devi and her uncle Gian Chand were injured when militants fired on them at Goi area yesterday. They were on way from Bhima Desa to Goi when militants opened fire on them. They were later shifted to hospital for treatment.
