Tiruchirapalli, Sept 14: Tamil Nadu unit of the Janata Dal (United) at its executive meeting here, today decided to continue its partnership with NDA or in any other lineup in which DMK was a member. However, the party would go it alone if the DMK ditched it like it did during the last polls, the JDU Tamil Nadu unit president Rajasekaran told newsmen here after the meeting.

During the last Lok Sabha polls, DMK, which was leading the NDA Front, did not allot any seat to JDU. He recalled that Union Minister Murasoli Maran got his first cabinet berth only under former Prime Minister V P Singh, and said DMK chief M Karunanidhi should always bear this fact in mind.

The party would continue to conduct intensive campaign against Congress president Sonia Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister and the issue of her foreign origin would figure during party's public meetings.

He also said attempts to form a third front would not succeed.

JDU also welcomed the state government's decision to build a new secretariat in view of the space crunch and wanted the government enhance ceiling for the honorary ration cards being issued, he said. Bureau Report
