Ranchi, Nov 08: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today reiterated that his government would make all-out efforts to revive the ailing heavy engineering corporation, including by giving a ``lump sum`` package provided the centre waives loans/interest of the public sector undertaking. ``I have discussed with Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh and heavy engineering minister Subodh Mohite in Delhi recently. If the Centre waives loans/interests, then the state government would also take HEC`s whopping electricity bill through easy instalments,`` Munda told a press conference. Stating that the public sector is showing a loss of Rs 1500 crore, the chief minister said ``the management and workers should see to it that the sector reduces its loss this year, shows a no-loss and no-profit next year, and from there it should make profits... Only then can HEC be of benefit to the people of the state.``

Commenting on the land of the public sector undertaking, Munda said, ``government`s efforts to revive the public sector and the land matter were separate issues...Though the land is ours.``

On panchayat elections, he said that the government would honour the high court`s directions to hold panchayat polls by March next year.
``We are in touch with the state election commission...and it is the commission which has to announce dates after going through all formalities,`` he added.

On his commitment to distribute 30,000 appointment letters on the statehood day on November 15, Munda said that there would not be any burden on the state exchequer as the drive would be to fill-up vacancies and was under non-plan expenditure.
