Itanagar, July 28: The former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Gegong Apang, who was elected leader of the United Democratic Front (UDF) after the split in the Congress Legislature Party, would call on governor V C Pande at Raj Bhawan today with his supporting MLAs.
Raj Bhawan sources said the governor had last night asked Apang to line up his supporting MLAs in the Raj Bhawan today when he called him up and submitted a list of 39 MLAs to stake claim to form a new government.
The sources said Apang is likely to call on the governor with his supporting MLAs at around 1 pm.
Yesterday, the Congress government headed by Mukut Mithi was reduced to a minority when 31 party MLAs broke ranks and formed a new outfit Congress(D) which alongwith Apang's Arunachal Congress, two associate legislators and one unattached MLA formed the United Democratic Front.
