Hyderabad, Oct 02: Shaken by the assassination attempt by naxalites on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the state government today said it would consider Centre's offer to provide National Security Guards cover to him in view of heightened threat perception. "We want to totally revamp the security system. We are prepared to hand over this task to a specialised and independent agency or individuals," Home Minister T Devender Goud told reporters here. Condemning the attack on Naidu, the first on a Chief Minister of the state, he said the extremist organisation had been particularly targetting TDP and BJP leaders. Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand, who flew in here from delhi to call on Naidu, told reporters that the Centre was prepared to provide NSG cover to Naidu.
He said there was a need for a thorough review of Naidu's security cover. Bureau Report
