New York, Sept 18: Chris DiMarco is just about due for another victory. The 35-year-old New Yorker, who was won one title in each of the last three seasons, is having another typically good year.
In 22 events, DiMarco has made 19 cuts, has nine top-10 finishes, including one second and two thirds, and has earned $2,101,655. DiMarco won his first PGA Tour title in the then-Pennsylvania Classic in 2000, took the Buick Challenge the following year and the Phoenix Open in 2002.
After tying for ninth in the FedEx St. Jude Classic this year, DiMarco missed the cut in the British Open, then tied for second at the Buick Open and placed fourth alone in the International. He wrapped up August with two so- so outings, a 56th-place showing in the PGA Championship and a tie for 33rd in the NEC Invitational.

When DiMarco tees off Thursday in the 84 Lumber Classic, it will have been nearly a month since he last played.

"This is normally the time of the year that I play better," DiMarco said recently. "Obviously, any main goal of the year is normally to get in the Tour Championship and the Mercedes Championships."

The Tour Championship won't be a concern. With his 14th-place standing on the money list, DiMarco has achieved that goal. The Mercedes will require that DiMarco win a title.
