New Delhi, Dec 07: Senior Congress leader K Karunakaran, who has been under treatment at the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre here, will attend Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting. After a long gap, Karunakaran had received a telephone invitation from AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, who besides enquiring about his health, requested him to be present at the meeting.

Karunakaran is a special invitee to the CWC.

Significantly, Sonia did not visit Karunakaran nor did she enquire about his health over telephone when the former Chief Minister was hospitalised at the Escorts two months ago. It is likely that Sonia will have a one-to-one meeting with Karunakaran after the CWC meeting.
